Rum

Rum is made from sugar cane that was brought from India through Europe to the West Indies. In the beginning its purpose was sugar for food but some genius on Barbados started making rum with it.

There are three major styles of rum: Its divided by islands and cultures and we do the same in this menu.

• Spanish style

• British style

French rhum

Rhum is the spelling in the French islands of the Caribbean. Martinique, Guadeloupe, Haiti and Marie Galante are the main islands. The french people call it Rhum Agricole and mostly they make it out of freshly squeezed cane juice rather than molasses. French Rhum is labeled through French law as a Appellation d’Origine Protogé which has the same hard regulations as French wines.

Spanish ron

British rum

The colonial times from early 1600s made a mark on today's British Style rum. The settlers had great influences in the Caribbean and that set the tone for spirits. Jamaica, Antigua, St Lucia, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago are the main islands.
